The "EB-200" Bluetooth Extension is compatible with ALTAIR "E-200" cable-based intercom systems. This device acts as an interface that allows the operation of Bluetooth devices into the intercom system. Connection of the unit is similar to a regular cable beltpack: One XLR 3 connector to "receive" the intercom line and another XLR3 connector to continue the line to the next device.

"MIC" and "EAR" levels can be independently adjusted in order to make the device compatible with a wide range of Bluetooth devices in the market. Pairing is easily done by just pushing of a button.

Applications include wireless replacement of a wired beltpack and headset, telephone interface from mobile phone calls or small wireless intercom systems among others.

The operating range of the system will depends on the headset or Bluetooth power class chosen. In order to obtain the best performance, we recommend the use of class 1 devices, allowing a line-of-sight operation of 60 to 100 meter. When using standard low-cost headsets (class 2) the range will be reduced to 10 meters, but even this would be enough for close communication in many applications, such as the operating room in technical desk operators.

Another benefit of the system is the freedom to receive an external call from your mobile phone in the same headset.
